Why the headline rate misleads
Two providers at very different headline rates can end up at the same real cost, because what you actually need is a usable mobile number and the headline counts rows.
The variables that move the real number are the match rate, whether you are billed for unmatched rows, whether landlines and VoIP are counted, and how much of the file is companies rather than people.
We are not going to publish other providers' match rates. They are not ours to state, and a figure we cannot source is a fabrication however plausible it sounds.
How our pricing is shaped
Three of those four variables are removed rather than argued about. Unmatched rows are credited back. Landlines and VoIP are dropped before billing. Entities are filtered out before tracing.
That leaves the match rate itself, which varies by county and by list type and which we will not pretend is a single advertised number.
If the county holds fewer records than you ordered, you get everything it holds and the difference goes back to your balance automatically. There is no topping the file up with a different list type to hit a promised number.
How to compare properly
Take the total you paid and divide it by the number of rows you would actually put in a dialer. That is your cost per contact, and it is the only figure that survives contact with a campaign.
Run the comparison on the same county, in the same week, on both providers. County and recency move results more than vendor choice does, so a comparison across two different markets tells you nothing.
Then weigh it against what the list is for. On a $10,000 assignment fee, a difference of a cent a record across a thousand records is ten dollars. Freshness and scrub quality are worth more than that.

What is your match rate?
It varies by county and list type, and we do not advertise a single figure because a single figure would be true of some counties and false of others. What we guarantee instead is that you are not billed for rows that did not match.
Do you charge for landlines?
No. They are dropped before billing along with VoIP. A number you cannot text is not a contact for this kind of campaign.
Is a cheaper rate ever the right choice?
Often, if the file is clean and the billing is on delivered records. The rate only misleads when it is attached to a count that includes rows you cannot use.
